The TopStocks.com.au concept was born from a growing need to bring some level of accountability into the online stock discussion community. Traditionally, people accessing such sites are free to make brash, unjustified comments that only mislead some members of the trading community. The problem TopStocks.com.au needed to eliminate was a lack of accountability and this was achieved by ranking each and every participant of the TopStocks.com.au community against the stock market odds in general.

Stock Discussion Forum
An environment where members can share and discuss thoughts on a particular stock or more general stock related topics. Members can grade other members posts, subscribe to email alerts when others post messages in forums that interest them, view general member stock sentiment reports and track the community's favourite members for a particular forum.
Stock Tipping
Members can submit stock tips in the hope of increasing their ranking. Stock tips are monitored for their accuracy and the rank of the submitting member is updated accordingly with the accuracy of their tip. Similarly, members can participate in stock bets where they can take rank points from other members participating in bets against them.
Member Favourites
Member favourites show the favourite stocks, general sentiments and favourite posters. All these reports are generated using the current open bets or tips, sentiment submissions and member posting grades - this data is consolidated into a rank-weighted consensus report that uniquely identifies the most popular stocks, sentiments and poster.
